Welcome to my newly revised website. My sincere thanks to the supporters, fans, students colleagues who have followed my activities since the launch of the original site. Per your request, creating the new site provides the opportunity to provide updates on my activities.
For many years I maintained a small private voice studio, working with a select group of students ( and the occasional colleague ) when my performance schedule permitted. In 2008 I ventured the next step by joining the voice faculty at The University of Massachusetts-Amherst and loved it. My years in western New England were gratifying both personally and professionally. I helped build UMass Opera Workshop into an integral component of the vocal performance curriculum, and several of my students moved on to major graduate programs throughout the country (Manhattan School of Music, SUNY Stony Brook, Roosevelt University, Oklahoma City University and Indiana University, among others). In 2013 I was honored to be invited to become part of the acclaimed voice faculty at The College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati. Besides studio teaching, my CCM responsibilities include serving as Co-Director of Undergraduate Opera Workshop with the generous and talented Kenneth Shaw and teaching a Performance Basics class.
For the full update of my performance activities, please visit the bio and calendar pages. I’ve added new video and sound clips as well that I hope you’ll enjoy.
I am eager to utilize future blog entries for commentary regarding both my performing and teaching activities. Stay tuned…
